Welcome to Get Farmed! News,
I’m Lynne, the founder behind the Get Farmed! brand. Pop the kettle on and settle in.
I thought I would share with you some of the story behind Get Farmed!
Before having a family, I was professionally engaged to promote Australian food ingredients to food manufacturers in Asia. This was a role that I relished because as a food scientist, I was communicating an Australian food story that I truly believed. I was proud of Australia’s high quality, pure food products, born out of such a clean, green environment.
So it was only natural when I became a mother that I developed a heightened sensitivity for the need for healthy, natural food. Whilst trying to find the right nutritious foods for my family, I realised that a rapidly increasing proportion of food products and ingredients are being sourced from overseas.
The idea that the nourishing bounty produced by Australian farmers was being by-passed was the tipping point in inspiring me to take action. Hence, Get Farmed! the food brand with a mission was born.
Our mission is simple: Provide healthy, natural foods sourced locally with honesty, integrity and sustainability to support our Australian farmers.
Today we have a growing range of muesli, porridge oats, muesli bars, chickpea and fava bean super snacks and some more great products on the way very soon.
It hasn’t been an easy road, with a few hurdles along the way. But here we are, 8 years later and as I sit here with my cuppa I realise I am as passionate as when I first started the Get Farmed! brand.
I urge you to support not only our great little brand, but all Australian grown produce, so Get Farmed! and support Aussie farmers.
We’ll be back soon with another wholesome recipe & news from Get Farmed!
Being a mum to a growing teenage boy, sometimes our Get Farmed! muesli bars aren’t quite enough, it’s times like that that I make sure I have some of my more filling muesli slice, made with Get Farmed! Natural Muesli, of course!
• 4 cups (450g) Get Farmed! Natural Muesli
• 1 cup (220g) soft brown sugar
• 1/4 cup currants
• 1/4 cup black chia seed
• 1/4 cup flax seeds
• 1/2 cup plain flour
• 250g butter, chopped
• 1/2 cup golden syrup
Preheat the oven to 150°C. Grease a 18cm x 26cm slice pan and line with baking paper. Combine muesli, sugar, currants, chia seeds and flour in a large bowl. Melt the butter and golden syrup over low heat and pour over the dry ingredients. Mix until well combined. Spoon the mixture into the prepared slice pan and press down evenly and firmly. Bake for about 40 minutes until browned. Remove from oven and allow to cool before cutting.
